Is it because RSVG is GPL that you still have to provide this broken SVG component?
(I was unable to find any documentation concerning individual modules; even the function OpenModules is incompletely documented in Doxygen.)

display annotate changes ["] to [Â]
I use a keyboard layout with dead keys, which means I need to press [Shift [2]] [space] to get ["]. When I press [Shift [2]] in the display annotation buffer, I get [Â] instead. In fact, whatever I type of what was supposed to be a modified letter, I get [A] or [a] with some diacritic.

Annotate dismiss does not restore pointer
When I tell display to annotate, the pointer changes to text placement. When I change my mind and tell annotate to dismiss, the pointer remains unchanged, although it does not place text.

Alt-A does not annotate
The display overview says that Alt-A annotates the current image. It does not at my place, it only changes the pointer to wait for a second. Annotating works when selected from the tools window.
