That sounds great! Are you suggesting *specifically* version 6.7.0-7? Because I can't seem to find that particular version to download anywhere. The ftp.imagemagick.org site for it's latest version is 6.7.0-8. I will assume that is valid too... but since you gave me a specific version saying it was ...

display crashes inconsistently
Here's my issue... I can run 'display' which lives on a gpfs (ibm clustering filesystem) filesystem on the host in question. When I run it, I'm also sitting in a different gpfs filesystem where the .gif files I'm working with live. There are 24 .gif files, all with long filenames... approx. 44 ...
