I have noticed that -strip makes the result a bit better but I don't want to strip the profiles and the exif data.

Thanks! I tested on my system and it works this way. Actually the error message says it, but now I understand :) But what if I want to leave the format recognition to IM ? There should be a way to escape/quote the file path. It may contain characters that are internally used by IM for some logic and ...

The same problem is reproducible in Linux with 6.8.3-7
There is no way to parse colon as part of the path. Tried escaping (single, double, triple), quotes, both ... no luck.

Tried with quotes, doesnt help much ...
And as far as I see from the post this problem has been reproduced in 6.7.3 and I dont know if it has been fixed in 6.7.7
