Re: Large Dimension AI files
@fmw42 thanks for the response! We've done more digging, and I should have provided more information. We're running ImageMagick on our digital asset management site (ResourceSpace). We did increase the size of our /tmp directory, since we initially had 8gb allocated for it. We increased it to 50gb ...

Large Dimension AI files
We are having an interesting issue with Adobe Illustrator (AI) files. If we attempt to upload a larger dimension AI file (30 inches by 70 inches, for example), it seems to get stuck trying to generate a preview image. Smaller files don't seem to be an issue. We also noticed on the server that it ...

Re: JPG Created from RAW File is dark
That's a good tip. We'll experiment with different quality settings and see where we land. Again, thanks for the assist.

Re: JPG Created from RAW File is dark
Thank you guys for all your efforts! @snibgo and @fmw42 setting the -exposure=auto in UFRaw, we are able to get VERY close to the RAW file, like you said. We've updated UFRaw to include that setting for our ResourceSpace setup, and recreated a few of the images to be sure. It looks like all is ...

Re: JPG Created from RAW File is dark
You haven't answered my questions above, starting with "In addition, why are the images small, 1024x682?" I think Windows Explorer etc use the preview image, rather than de-Bayering the raw image. I apologize. I somehow missed that post. I did resize the images so they wouldn't be so large. You may ...

Re: JPG Created from RAW File is dark
It is likely the dng delegate.xml line. The file shows DNG meta data. Here is the dng line, which calls ufraw. So likely ufraw needs some modification to handle the auto-contrast/brightness in some way. I do not use ufraw. But you might try processing your NEF using ufraw directly and see what ...

Re: JPG Created from RAW File is dark
Can you tell me what arguments you put in the RAW panel to import the NEF file. I tried using what IM suggested for the file size, etc, but my ancient Photoshop CS would not open the file. I think it wants the size of the header. My test of converting the NEF in IM 7.0.4.7 Q16 Mac OSX came out dark ...

Re: JPG Created from RAW File is dark
Thank you for the help. Those command line parameters are what ResourceSpace (The digital asset management) software we're using generated. I was unsure why matte was listed twice as well. As far as the -strip parameter, I probably should have not mentioned that one, since the way this software ...

Re: JPG Created from RAW File is dark
Thanks for the response! We checked the log, and here is the command that was performed: +matte -quality 90 +matte -strip -colorspace sRGB It looks like the sRGB parameter is already set. Is there anything else that we could be missing? EDIT: I forgot to mention that we just updated ImageMagick a ...

JPG Created from RAW File is dark
I'm trying to resolve an issue for our DAM (ResourceSpace) that is using ImageMagick to create JPGs from our RAW files. Everything is working great, except the JPGs created appear darker than they should be. Here is a sample image: This was saved from Photoshop from the RAW file. No adjustments have ...

Re: Keep color correction when converting
Thanks for the information. Looks like we'll have to find another solution. We were trying to avoid having multiple copies of files on the DAM. Hoping to have the JPGs created from the DNG files.

Re: Keep color correction when converting
Thanks for the reply. The corrections we're doing are just metadata as you mentioned, which we prefer, since it is non-destructive. Is there any way for IM to read and use that information when generating JPGs?

Keep color correction when converting
Hello, I've read and done some searching to try and find a solution, but was unable to. If I somehow missed the correct discussion, please point me in the right direction. :) We're using ImageMagick to do image conversion, etc. on our DAM, which is ResourceSpace (http://www.resourcespace.com ...
