Re: PAID: PDF color profil settings

When using rendering intent does it need to come before setting the icc profiles?

Re: PAID: PDF color profil settings

Fred - the icc profile you shared works much better though there still a small difference between the pre-conversion and converted images: https://www.dropbox.com/s/luvh8bm3hief1tn/map-395.png?dl=0 . Pre-conversion PNG is in the left half, converted TIF is to the right. We'll test all of them to see ...

Re: PAID: PDF color profil settings

Hey Fred,

We had very recent versions of both, though have updated to be on the safe side. Which sRGB.icc file are you using? There are a few to choose from it seems (e.g. http://www.color.org/srgbprofiles.xalter). Could be we aren't using the same ones.

Re: PAID: PDF color profil settings

Hey Fred, We are using ImageMagick 7.0.7-22 Q16. The command we're now using is: magick ‘poster.png’ -alpha off -profile /home/visio/public_html/sRGB.icc -resize ‘img_width’x’img_height’ -profile /home/visio/public_html/PSOcoated_v3.icc -units “PixelsPerInch” -density 300 ‘poster.tif’ I'm still getti ...

Re: PAID: PDF color profil settings

Hey guys,

Fantastic feedback. Thank you!

I'll get on to checking those various points. In the meantime here's a link to the original poster: https://www.dropbox.com/s/y1t20vtag8pqh ... 4.png?dl=0.

Re: PAID: PDF color profil settings

Hi guys, I've been swamped with other projects so haven't had chance to test things out fully until now. We're now able to convert the source PNG file to TIF using CMYK colorspace and the PSOcoated_v3.icc colour profile, which is great! I've noticed, however, that the colour between source PNG and ...

Re: PAID: PDF color profil settings

I spoke to the printing company. It's definitely ok with an image, though in that case they'd prefer tif format, 300dpi and a CYMK profile. So in addition to the resizing, units, density and profile we need to convert the image from PNG to TIF right?

Re: PAID: PDF color profil settings

Thanks for the input guys. As snibgo has said, you would be better extracting the image from the PDF and resizing to the pixel size you want and assign the density you want for printing as well as the color profile. Then not putting that result back into a PDF shell. This is interesting. I'm ...

Re: PAID: PDF color profil settings

I suppose the thinking is that using a PDF wrapper allows us to define the document size and resolution required. The image is 72dpi and as large as it is to allow us to scale it down to the actual size and resolution needed. In this case 700 x 1,000mm and 300 dpi, though the document size can vary ...

Re: PAID: PDF color profil settings

Fred, I'm probably mixing terminology. I'm sitting in the middle of a print expert and a developer and have little knowledge of either areas myself so please bear with me  You first post says you want to convert to sRGB. But your second post seems to imply you want cmyk. Your PDF already is ...

Re: PAID: PDF color profil settings

Thanks for the reply! :) I've zipped an example PDF: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fVLfosVHN6I_FUdoaz7qofJcLP5RElwn/view?usp=sharing The document's color profile is "Device RGB". Whilst probably not a problem for black and white printing, it affects the color prints quite a lot. The image in the ...

PAID: PDF color profil settings

Hi,

I'm looking for someone with experience of ImageMagick and PDF color profiles who can help me with some configuration.

PDFs had been coming out with undefined color profiles and we are wanting to set them to sRGB.

PM me if you can help :)
