I agree that IM should correct this problem So it's an actual bug? Do the developers check this forum or should I report it elsewhere? but I don't agree with your statement. What happens if you have a filename like "my.gif[0]"? Then it wouldn't be recognized as a GIF file by my script or Windows ...
