GetErrorMode could not be located in KERNEL32.dll

Just installed ImageMagick-6.8.6-10-Q16-x86-dll.exe on WindowsXP SP3 and get error: The procedure entry point GetErrorMod could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I have downloaded the zip file as well.

I am sure it is something I am doing wrong since I have not seen this topic anywhere on this message board.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

6.8.6-10 has only just been released, in the last day or so.

When does the error occur? During istallation? Or while running an IM command -- if so, exactly what command?

We'll get a patch in the next point release of ImageMagick to fix this problem.

The error occurs when running IM command Convert or Compare. Have not tested others.

From the page http://www.imagemagick.org/script/binar ... hp#windows , I downloaded and installed ImageMagick-6.8.6-10-Q16-x64-static.exe, and that seems to work okay.

This error occurs also on a Windows Server 2003 R2, 32Bit with the version of IM stated by the OP but also with the Q8 one (static and DLL).
I tried "convert.exe".

Where can I find older, official binaries for Windows until the above error has been corrected in the latest one?

I'm experiencing the same error, I tried on 2 machines:

1) WinXP SP3
2) Windows Server 2003 SP2

The error is displayed every time I try to execute any command

I tried the following 2 installation programs:
- ImageMagick-6.8.6-10-Q16-x86-dll.exe
- ImageMagick-6.8.6-10-Q16-x86-static.exe

Can someone provide a link to older binaries?

Look for a fix for this problem in ImageMagick 6.8.7-0 available this weekend.
