install ImageMagick on Mac

I tried to install ImageMagick on OS X 10.9 with MacPort. During the installation process I got the message:
---> Building ncurses
Error: org.macports.build for port ncurses returned: command execution failed
Error: Failed to install ncurses
......

Then I wanted to install nurses separately but it failed again. How can I fix this issue? (Xcode 5, X11 are installed)

I install all my delegates from MacPorts and then install IM from source. That is pretty reliable for me on OSX Snow Leopard. see viewtopic.php?f=1&t=21502&p=88202&hilit ... rts#p88202
