Hi,
Existing gravity options could still be used (e.g. South = 50%:100%),
but more importantly, we could easily set gravity on an interest point (e.g. On the face of the main character).
By this away we ensure the interest point will still be visible in the image, even if we drastically crop an image.
What do you think ?

I'm not sure how that would work. Could you describe it more precisely?
For video work, I often want to zoom in (or out) with a fixed point of the image remaining at a fixed point on the output. "-distort SRT" does this trick well. Unlike other resizing methods, it can resize to a non-integer size, which is needed for smooth video.

What is an example of your command line? We need to know what function (method) is being used with -gravity (setting). Lots of IM functions use -gravity.
