the read function does not work for .gif archive

when I read a archive .gif with read and write it, I don't get an animated image, I get a static image.

this is how I am trying:

{
InitializeMagick(*argv);
Image image;
image.read("blue_heart_02.gif");
image.write( "uopoiopo.gif");
}

What is an "archive" gif? You probably need to set -delay and -loop to get it to animate.
