magick: command not found

Post by md64 »

Please, help this complete newbie!

I installed ImageMagick on Mac OS Sierra, via MacPorts 2.4.1. Always went fine, apparently. But, when I type "magick" in the terminal window, I receive the message: "magick: command not found".

As it is obvious, the command line interface world is pretty obscure for me. It seems something went wrong, but I don't know what. Can you put me on the right path?

Thank you in advance,

md

MacPorts only has IM 6, which requires convert and not magick. If you want IM 7 you can get it from Homebrew. Or what I do is install all my delegates from MacPorts and install ImageMagick from source. See viewtopic.php?f=1&t=21502&p=88202&hilit ... rts#p88202

But now that I have a not functioning version of IM installed on my hard disk with MacPorts, what should I do first? There is a way to uninstall it or it is not important?

Thanks, again.

I am not an expert on this so I will defer to the developers or anyone else. See the documentation at MacPorts for sudo port uninstall to remove the MacPorts installed version of IM. https://guide.macports.org/#using.port.uninstall
