Re: High Sierra install
I know nothing about Macs, but what version of IM did you install? v6 doesn't have a "magick" program (this is a v7 program), which might explain why you don't have it.

Re: High Sierra install
MacPorts, last I knew, only had an IM 6 version. If you want an IM 7 version, then you can get that from Homebrew. Or install from ImageMagick binary at http://www.imagemagick.org/script/download.php#macosx
Re: High Sierra install
Hi guys thanks for your replies
After installing Macports I installed from this command sudo port install ImageMagick. Unfortunately I cant tell you which version I installed from that command, but I will look into getting IM version 7 from Homebrew, cheers

Re: High Sierra install
You can tell which version by using
convert -version for IM 6
or
magick -version for IM 7
If you installed from MacPorts, it is likely IM 6
convert -version for IM 6
or
magick -version for IM 7
If you installed from MacPorts, it is likely IM 6
Re: High Sierra install
At the end of the IM7 install with home-brew
Pouring imagemagick-7.0.7-15.high_sierra.bottle.tar.gz
/usr/local/Cellar/imagemagick/7.0.7-15: 1,522 files, 23.2MB
I get this,
display: delegate library support not built-in '' (X11) @ error/display.c/DisplayImageCommand/1900.
is taht a good result or are there other tasks I must consider?

Re: High Sierra install
Macs do not come with X11 built-in any more (as opposed to Xcode). X11 is needed to display images. Download Xquartz. See https://www.xquartz.org. Once that is installed, you should be able to use
To display the logo: image. Note for IM 7 you must preface display and other tools with magick, except for convert. Magick replaces convert.
where logo: is an internal IM image that comes installed. The colon is part of the name. See http://www.imagemagick.org/script/forma ... tin-images
Code: Select all
magick display logo:

Re: High Sierra install
First launch Xquartz and wait for it to finish loading. Then open a terminal window and type:
All commands such as display, identify, mogrify, montage all need to be prefaced with magick. The only one that does not is convert. Magick replace convert.
What happens with
Do those work?
What about
Code: Select all

Yes I have Xcode 9.2 from Apple, that was how I got MacPorts to get IM6, but then I installed Home-brew to get IM7 and then Xquartz
and yes correct me if Im wrong but as I read it
So can you advise me how I include x as a delegate

Re: High Sierra install
I know little about Homebrew. I mostly use MacPorts to install all my delegates and then install ImageMagick from source.
But if things are not working with your install, then it would be worthwhile to try following some other well-tried instructions. So, yes, I would uninstall and then re-install.
