We are using ImageMagick to generate renditions for asset uploaded in AEM. The jpeg and png assets are working as expected but when PSD files are uploaded, the thrice the number of renditions are generated than configured.
Is this something specific to PSD files?
Is this a known behavior of PSD files?
Are we missing anything?

I suppose your PSD files contain multiple images. Use "[0]" after the filename to read just the first image.

Please, always provide your IM version and platform when asking questions, since syntax may differ.
Also provide your exact command line and your images, if possible.
