convert always exit with exit status zero

We can reproduce the problem you posted and will have a fix in the next point release scheduled for release in a week or so. Thanks for the problem report.

We have a patch for this problem in ImageMagick 6.2.6-2 Beta, scheduled for release in a week or two.

There is a patch in ImageMagick 6.2.6-2 for the problem you reported but the patch is flawed. We will apply a more robust patch within a day or two.
