I am glad you managed to find the cause of the problem. No it was not related by my problem from years ago.

IM does not process all aspects of TIF formats. However as you are able to extarct this info you can adjust your script to add a -negate when needed.

I gather that this image info is not output by identify. In which case Im is definateally not dealing with it. Sorry.
