How to Validate Media files whether its corrupted or not?

When we are uploading media files like .wmv, .mov, .mpeg, .avi and flash files,
how to find whether they are corrupted or not? Is there any validation tool for this type of files?

The identify program can validate over 100 image file types but it only supports a few video formats such as AVI or MPEG.

Best idea is to look at some software that specializes in this type of file format. Namely mmencode.
