Totally no clue on where to install IM
Totally no clue on where to install IM
I'm very new at advanced web hosting. I know my way around FTP, but when you say user/local/bin, I have no clue what you're talking about, because I don't know what user/local/bin means. What exactly would I do to upload it to my host and where to? My host is lunarpages.com.
Re: Totally no clue on where to install IM
Hi,
I just searched their forum and it looks like it is already installed on the servers. How are you trying to use ImageMagick?

Re: Totally no clue on where to install IM
I assumed that when you said:
If not you have to get whoever runs the servers to install it for you. Maxwell says it is already installed so all you need to do is use it.
As Maxwell says how are you going to use it as there are lots of different ways; I use php and in my signature there is a link to my site with examples and code to check your instalation etc.

Re: Totally no clue on where to install IM
I'm planning on using it for phpBB3 RC8. It has the option to "search" for ImageMagick to resize or edit any images uploaded to the server.
When I searched Fantastico (the program that installs software onto my server automatically), this is everything that it says is available..

Re: Totally no clue on where to install IM
I would look at the phpBB3 forum they have posts there about ImageMagick installations/problems.
Re: Totally no clue on where to install IM
Conner,
See this: http://www.lunarforums.com/lunarpages_w ... 663.0.html
Also, it's not listed in Fantastico because Fantastico doesn't install it. It is already there and in its usual place. I'm sure phpBB3 will find it.
Since your question is about hosting, you'd probably get more pertinent responses from your host's Forum.
