Screenshots and window id's of workspaces

Post by iftops »

The thing is that xwininfo identifies all workspaces with the same window id which makes perfect sense I guess, but,,,

are there a way to make 8 screenshots of 8 different workspaces with one command?

Workspaces are nothing to do with IM. Sure IM has a was of getting current screen contents using "import" or convert x:root image.png but it only gets what is visible.

Workspaces are a construct of the window manager of the X window server you are using. and unless you have some way of remote controlling your window manager you have no way to access other workspaces.
