Hello,

Does anybody know how to create a thermal effect ?

It would help to see the input image(s), if available.

It looks like the image was converted to grayscale (if it was not already) and a rainbow colormap lookup table applied using -clut.

Your lookup table rainbow images does not have to have a full spectrum, it can have just a few colors.
