Silicon Graphics RGB files

Questions and postings pertaining to the usage of ImageMagick regardless of the interface. This includes the command-line utilities, as well as the C and C++ APIs. Usage questions are like "How do I use ImageMagick to create drop shadows?".

I tried converting the birch.rgb example on your page and it appears to have converted correctly like this:

Code: Select all

convert sgi:birch.rgb birch.png
The rgb suffix on its own is not sufficient for IM to determine the filetype so you must prefix it with sgi:
You would do the same sort of thing if you were converting to the SGI rgb format

Code: Select all

convert birch.png sgi:birch_cvt.rgb
[edit]If the file has a .sgi suffix instead of .rgb, then you don't need to use the sgi: prefix[/edit]

Sorry, my ISP shutdown all personal webspace so my MagickWand Examples in C is offline.
See my message in this topic for a link to a zip of all the files.

We have patch to fix the problem you reported. Look for the fix in ImageMagick 6.4.7-8 when it comes out in a week or two.
