how to convert fro progressive jpeg to non-progressive jpeg

have you just tried converting it?

convert progressive.jgp non-progressive.jpg

I am no expert, but seems that IM requires -interlace Line to force it to be progressive. See http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/formats/#jpg_write
