screen capture takes a long time

Questions and postings pertaining to the usage of ImageMagick regardless of the interface. This includes the command-line utilities, as well as the C and C++ APIs. Usage questions are like "How do I use ImageMagick to create drop shadows?".

"xwd" is a very old but standard X window command. In my past usage of it I found it has a tenancy to 'beep' the X window display it ia grabbing on. This is to let users know someone if grabbing the screen. It was a old problem when security for X window displays were a bit lax.
