IM 6.5.9-3 Q16 Mac OSX Tiger

display -texture checkerboard: zelda3_circ.png

does not seem to show the checkerboard behind the picture

Am I doing something wrong?

Is there some other way to display a transparent image with the checkerboard behind it?

By the way, the X11 display still flickers with this transparent image.

We can reproduce the problem you posted and will have a patch in ImageMagick 6.5.9-4 by sometime tomorrow. Thanks.
