openexr support under windows - once more

Hi,
my goal is to use IM under windows with .exr files. I worked through the already existing postings about this topic but I couldn't come to a final conclusion. Just making sure I am understanding this correctly: I can't use Imagemagick under windows with .exr files? Or is it possible but the installation is messy?

If it is possible could someone please give me some more insights on how to compile a properly functioning exe?

If it is not possible, could anyone recommend an alternative commandline tool for windows with that I could use .exr as well?

you could download and install the EXR plugin for PS (windows version). see http://www.openexr.com/photoshop_plugin.html
