Feature Request - Preserve EXIF data across file conversions

Feature Request - Preserve EXIF data across file conversions

I brought up this issue in the Users forum and it was suggested I post here in hopes that this could be considered as a feature request. The original discussion is here:

Short version is, when converting from JPEG to TIFF (and other formats), the EXIF data is lost. I believe that the information could be preserved across file type conversions using the various container's storage mechanisms. It seems that some support was intended with profiles, but it doesn't seem that you can extract and apply EXIF data from JPGs to TIFFs.

Apologies if this isn't the correct place to post this request. I'm new around here :D
