COULD ANYONE POINT ME TO A MORPHING/MOSAIC TUTORIAL?
THE ONLY RESOURCE THAT I KNEW OF IS NOW CLOSED DOWN.
THANK YOU,

P.S. HI BDIANA...
MORPHING TUTORIAL????
Re: MORPHING TUTORIAL????
I tried to do a morph image not too long ago - when I typed in the image file - it wouldn't accept it - and I tried all three of the online options. That's the only way I knew to morph from back in the webtv days - and into pc
Re: MORPHING TUTORIAL????
If I remember correctly, you must put the images in their own separate directory. No index file, either, as this will be a temporary directory. I think also that the images have to be the same size. So you put the name of the directory - its url I mean - into the parameter box - not the name of the individual images. If you want the same image repeated, then make as many duplicate copies as needed and name each in sequence in the special directory: 01.jpg, 02.jpg, etc.
I haven't done this for a long, long time, tho.
Please let us know if this works?

THAT'S IT, FLO...
I COULDN'T REMEMBER THE PARTICULARS IT HAS BEEN SUCH A LONG TIME.
I DON'T HAVE MUCH ONLINE TIME RIGHT NOW TO TRY IT.
IF YOU DO, WOULD YOU POST IT HERE SO THAT I GET A REPLY NOTIFICATION TO COME AND SEE IT?
YOUR TUTORIAL PAGES ARE SO COMPLETE.
WOULD YOU CONSIDER ADDING A PAGE ON THIS?
FOR RESOURCE PURPOSES,
IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO HAVE THINGS IM TEXT AND ALSO IN A PLACE THAT ONE CAN KNOW TO GO AND LOOK FOR IT WHEN WANTED.
POSTS GO AWAY, PAGES DON'T.
THANX ALOT, THANK YOU TOO MLSKI
FOR ANSWERING ME

Re: MORPHING TUTORIAL????
This morph animate tutorial people seem to understand easier. The first one I posted
many get hung up on making the
gold glitter part.
=It's the use of the clip board that is the key in morphing animation.=
When using the clipboard this removes the need to have to build an index to morph from.
Speeds the over all process.

Re: MORPHING TUTORIAL????
Their is no really good morphing tutoral as yet. But you do need to remember there are two components to proper morphing. Color blending (which is all that the -morph IM operator provides) and distortion (movement).
One simple example of true morphing is provided by Fred in his "shapemorph" script. Though this is only a single point distortion, that was created before the -distort Shepards method was added to IM.
http://www.fmwconcepts.com/imagemagick/shapemorph/
Basically you need to first distort both images to all the individual frames of the final animation. Then you need to blend by the appropriate color percentages the pairs of images to produce each frame of the final morph.
Shepards is a good general purpose distortion for morphing but has 'rotation' and scale limits close to the control points.
I am thinking about a way to allow you to specify 'percentage of distortion' so that the same control points can be used with an image to generate all the distorted images needed (source distorted 50% toward destination, or destination distorted 50% toward source, so the two can then be blended). Of course that would only be a linear
transition of all points.
I am also looking to add feild line distortions and mesh and grid distortion methods, but have no ETA about when I can even properly start work on this.
Morphing is so complex that really you need a higher level script or API to properly do it.
Getting good small (non-face) images for morphing examples, can also be hard to find.

Any particular reason you decided to re-open this discussion?
The more typical way is to start a new discussion, with a reference link to the old discussion.
