Convert multipage PDF only renders 1st page

Questions and postings pertaining to the usage of ImageMagick regardless of the interface. This includes the command-line utilities, as well as the C and C++ APIs. Usage questions are like "How do I use ImageMagick to create drop shadows?".

Convert multipage PDF only renders 1st page

Post by elmimmo »

I am trying to convert a multipage PDF containing both CMYK & RGB elements to one RGB JPEG per page.

The following command will do so, but the output JPEGs will be CMYK.

Code: Select all

convert input.pdf output%d.jpg
The following will produce RGB JPEGs, but the color conversion will not be accurate (oversaturated colors and yellowish whites)

Code: Select all

convert input.pdf -colorspace RGB -profile sRGB.icc output%d.jpg
This will produce proper color conversion, but only 1 JPEG will be create, the first page.

Code: Select all

convert -colorspace RGB input.pdf -profile sRGB.icc output%d.jpg
Anyone knows why the latter command ignores the rest of the PDF pages? Is there anyway to read PDF, autodetect its colorspace, properly color-convert to sRGB and output to JPEG all its pages?

Using Mac OS 10.6.5 and installed imagemagick using Macports:

Code: Select all

  • convert -colorspace RGB input.pdf -profile sRGB.icc output%d.jpg
This is the proper command and it works for us. Add -verbose right after the convert keyword and post the results.
