convert: Postscript delegate failed

Post by tonyrocks »

First off, I've ditched PDFtoHTML for this and very happy with the quality of the conversion!

In a nutshell I am converting PDFs to PNGs.

I downloaded the latest build for MAC OSX and it works perfectly. I then decided to try it out (v. 6.6.7-10) on my Linux (Centos 64bit) but got some fails when make check:

Code: Select all

PASS: wand/drawtest.sh
FAIL: wand/wandtest.sh
===========================================
1 of 48 tests failed
See ./test-suite.log
Please report to http://www.imagemagick.org
===========================================
make[3]: *** [test-suite.log] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/tony/ImageMagick-6.6.7-10'
make[2]: *** [check-TESTS] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/tony/ImageMagick-6.6.7-10'
make[1]: *** [check-am] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/tony/ImageMagick-6.6.7-10'
make: *** [check] Error 2

If i simply convert a jpg to a gif it works fine, but when I try a PDF to PNG (convert logo.pdf khjk.jpg) i get this:

CRIT: rangecheck in .setuserparams
Operand stack:
--nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval--
convert: Postscript delegate failed `logo.pdf': @ error/pdf.c/ReadPDFImage/663.
convert: missing an image filename `khjk.jpg' @ error/convert.c/ConvertImageCommand/2962.

Looking at my test-suite.log it is barking like so:

Code: Select all

FAIL: wand/wandtest.sh (exit: 255)
==================================

CRIT: rangecheck in .setuserparams
Operand stack:
    --nostringval--  --nostringval--  --nostringval--

lt-wandtest: delegate library support not built-in `/usr/share/fonts/default/Type1/n019003l.pfb' (Freetype) @ warning/$
lt-wandtest: Postscript delegate failed `/tmp/magick-GAxAwsUz':  @ error/ps.c/ReadPSImage/806.

From reading the forums, it seems it has something to do with GS? I have GS installed on this server, so Im not really sure what else to do...worked so well on my MAC.

The problem is in GS (ghostscipt). You just update your ghostscript version. Because, same problem is occurred in my centos. So, I just updated my ghostscript version by executing the following line in the terminal.

Code: Select all

 yum update ghostscript

If you update GS or any delegate, then you generally have to reinstall IM (from source) afterwards
