Depreceate config script

Post by broucaries »

Hi,

Config script are not multi arch safe (we install two arch in the same time on debian linux). Could be possible to drop it for version 7 and during the mean time to mark these script as depreacted ?

The pkconfig replacement is the way to go.

We use pkg-config for any new delegate library dependencies in configure.ac. We'll try to refactor the older config methods where possible with pkg-config for ImageMagick version 6 and 7. However, some libraries do not have *.pc config files. We just checked and JPEG, for example, does not have a PC configuration file-- at least not under Fedora.

Thanks for this work (indeed needed but minor) but I mean depreceating your own config script, Magick-config and so on
