1. Why is download file:///C:/Program%20Files/ImageMagick-6.5.8-Q8/www/binary-releases.html#windows not working?
2. Which is the best alternative to cmd line operation e.g. wysiwyg? I am fairly familiar with Fireworks.
3. I have an older version 6.5.8 but seen two other versions available. Is the one above the latest (if I could download it)?

I have Win 7 Pro.

1/ The file you have added a link for is on somebodys hard drive as it has C: in the link.
Try here: http://www.imagemagick.org/script/binar ... hp#windows

2/ There was a method to use a graphics interface called Picture tweaker but the website has expired. It may have moved somewhere else or been dropped. I may have an old beta copy somewhere.
There is a guy developing another graphics interface but I do not know how he is getting on as I only have a 32bit PC and he is developing for 64bit
You can use batch files

3/ 6.5.8 is quite an old version - they must be on 6.7 See the link in 1/

Well I downloaded ImageMagick-6.7.6-5-Q16-windows-dll.exe and was told it was not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer so I have not installed it!

That is just Windows; I get it with other programs as well. Imagemagick as it says is not comonly installed but I have installed it without problem on XP and Vista on PC's and laptops.

But its your decision - if you want to use it you have to install it.

Not trying to put you off but if you are not going to use it as there is no GUI I would not bother. I suppose the question is what do you want to use it for?

Just downloading is not enough. You have to click to install and have to have some support tools. See http://www.imagemagick.org/script/binar ... hp#windows
