Writing right-to-left text seems to be broken in my IM 6.7.6.8 Q16 Mac OSX Snow Leopard.

This works, but the text is not right-to-left

convert -background white -fill black -encoding Unicode -font Arial -gravity center \
-pointsize 40 label:'ניסיון' show:


But this gives only a white image, no black text.

On the User's forum, Anthony seems to imply that label: is too primitive and that one may need to use pango to make this work.

Actually I said that it depends on the font being used.

But essentially yes, label: will not handle all unicode properly, as some parts need higher level control and maybe font switching to handle right. Pango provides this.
