Perhaps Anthony has some other better (central) place where the whole concept of virtual canvas is explained with where/why it is useful.

The first page shoul dbe the general introduction to the concept of virtual canvas, path and repage
but it never got finished. Basically it is a hard concept to provide an introduction for.

the other areas introduce it in terms of that sections involvement rather than as a concept in of itself.
