Hi,

I've got a request for a little over-night windows app and yes, you can call it 'commercial'. I've read the license of imageMagick from desk to desk, but I want to make sure.

Is ImageMagick really free and can be used for such a purpose? As I understand I have to include all the license files, do I also have to supply the whole installer, or can I just distribute the app with Magick dll-s?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Karol

The ImageMagick license protects our copyright and ensures we get proper attribution for our efforts. Including the license with your application is generally all you need to do to comply with the license. There is no requirement that you include the ImageMagick installer with the DLL's. You can include all or portions of the ImageMagick distribution as required by your application. You can use the ImageMagick distribution as is or modify it as needed. You can keep any modifications you make private or make them available for inclusion in a future release of ImageMagick but you are not obligated to do so. You can make money from distributing ImageMagick and any money you make is yours to keep. We know of one company that wraps ImageMagick with their own branding and sells it for close to 350,000 euros.
