Compatibility with W98 & IM Capability

Post by Mim »

Hello Board People,

I have not yet downloaded IM because I have a few questions I would like to ask first. I am wondering if I will be able to use it to transform a True Type font (which I have in my computer's font directory) into a graphic which I would like to be able to use as the title for a website I am planning.

Also, I am using an older OS, Windows 98SE to be exact, & would like to know if IM is even compatible.

One last question: if W98 is compatible, would the 8-bit static download be adequate for typeface clarity?

Thanks so very much in advance to anyone who can help me out with some answers.

Yes you can change TTF fonts to graphics - http://www.rubblewebs.co.uk/imagemagick/text.php - you can modify the examples to use command line but remember to use " not '

No idea if it will run on windows 98.

I would go with the 16 bit but if you are short of space try the 8 bit and see what its like.

I think you want to try and use the right size font and not resize it for the best results.
