Texture question again

In reference to my last topic, is there anyone who can help me finding the appropriate command line to create a texture who look like an artistic texture (aquarelle or oil painting aspect) or is it simply impossible with IM ?

I tried '-compose hardlight' but it does not match my needs.

post a link to an example of what you want.

This is about as close as I can get it to your example assuming you wanted the black lines as well as the texture.

convert native.png \
\( -clone 0 -edge 1 -colorspace Gray -threshold 5% -negate -blur 0x1 \) \
\( -clone 0 -posterize 10 \) -delete 0 \
-compose multiply -composite native_proc.gif

The second line creates a soft black edge image where the colors change and white elsewhere. Change the threshold percent and second number in the -blur 0x1 to show more or less edges and to make them narrower/wider, respectively.

The third line adds the texture. Decrease 10 to make more texture and increase 10 to make more texture. It is not exactly the same texture as you have, but as close as I can get easily.

The third line composites the edges onto the textured color image.
