UTIL_DB_*.exe

(It is rare that I upgrade and have zero problems with the build...)
Sorry for asking about what will surely be an oversight on my part. I downloaded the latest from ftp.imagemagick.org, built with no errors on WinXP using VisualStudio 2005. I tried to run convert but it aint there. Instead of finding (in VisualMagick/bin) the usual, friendly executables convert.exe, mogrify.exe, etc., I have all of those but prefixed with UTIL_DB_.
There seems to be a step missing in the build. Or the builder.
I have seen these filenames before but cannot recall my way out...
What have I forgotten?

The default build is Debug. First perform a 'Clean Solution' and then choose the Release Build and then build.

Aha, that is indeed what I eventually tried last time. Thanks for your speedy reply.
Is that a recent change? In years gone by I'd always use the debug build. Or the default build, anyway.

Nope its always defaulted to a debug build. No changes that we are aware of.

But there must be more to it --- now I have UTIL_RL_convert.exe, etc., but still now convert.exe, etc.

The configure program has an option to add a UTIL_ decoration to the ImageMagick utilities. Rerun the configure program and make sure you deselect the option that adds this decoration. We do not have access to Windows until tomorrow so we can't tell you now what the option name is.

That was it --- many thanks.
It says, "Decorate exe files with build options." Yes, I checked that, being in a decorating mood. I ignorantly thought it had to do with adding some internal info, not the filenames.
For dummies like me (though I appear to be the only one) it might be nice to have it say,
"Decorate names of built files with build options" or something to indicate it's just the name. Not only exe files, either --- all the files (exe's, dll's, etc) are renamed this way.
