Legacy ImageMagick Discussions Archive

The scripting ability in Photoshop CS is laughable. But I start out cropping and doing some interactive stuff, then I want to, for example, add a matte. I'm thinking of doing the automated stuff in PerlMagick, and can certainly save the file and then run the script from a command line. But I'm wondering if under Windows there is a way to integrate easier: can PS actions call scripts, or is there a PS "plug in" that can call ImageMagick?
