convert: No space to read TIFF custom directory.

Hello community,
i wonder why i get the following error, trying to convert a TIFF file:
convert: No space to read TIFF custom directory.
Does anybody have any idea, where the problem could be? It does not matter which command i call or what parameters i use, the error occures each time...
In fact, when i open this TIFF file on Photoshop and save it, than my commands work without problems. I'm quite sure, that the file is corrupt - but is there any chance to work with it without resaving all TIFF files?
