New user with GPL Question

Hi, i have found that ImageMagick can do lots of cool stuff by the command line but im confused about the license it has. On some places i have seen that it's open source and with the GPL and have read that it's royalty free to use etc. I have also seen though that you need to make the source open if you use it, is this true? If yes does this mean i have to give people the source to my whole app? or do you have to just give the source to ImageMagick?
Im happy to give credits and say i used ImageMagick for things but i don't really want to give out all of my works source if commercial or free. So yeah im a bit confused because what i have read from different places seems to differ so i figured i should just ask about it before i start using it in a project. If i was to use it then it would be the commandline app only though if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance

Yes but it confuses me a bit, it sounds like if i want to use it from reading other sites i would have to make my project open source but theres so much stuff there it's hard to know if thats optional or you have to do it. Also with what i have read already im even more confused and with words like royalty-free that sounds like i could sell it ok but then i read about distributing source etc. So i was basically just hoping for a simple answer about if i can sell something using it's commandline app but without having to give people the source code for my whole app?
Edit - Looking at it again -
It allows you to:
freely download and use ImageMagick software, in whole or in part, for personal, company internal, or commercial purposes; (Sounds like what i wanted)
It does not require you to:
include the source of the ImageMagick software itself, or of any modifications you may have made to it, in any redistribution you may assemble that includes it;
Sounds good but i have read on other sites regarding GPL which it seems to have something to do with that you have to make your app opensource also which concerns me about using it and i don't want to do that.
Would i be right in thinking that i just have to include the commandline app and credit ImageMagick in the about doc and also put a copy of the license in the package but can sell it or share it for free as long as i do this and follow the other rules?

ImageMagick is not GPL. The only conditions that apply to ImageMagick are listed in the ImageMagick license.
