IM 6.6.7-1 does not seem to support reading bitdepth=16 RGB PNG images with binary transparency. Running such an image through "convert" with no parameters (for example) causes the transparency to be removed. An example of such an image is here.
I tested PNG images with all 15 combinations of color type and bit depth in which transparency is possible, and all of them worked correctly except this one.
