Dicom file conversion problems

Hi all,

i frequently use ImageMagick tool to convert Dicom file to Jpeg without problems (i use standard convert.exe program).
Now i have problems to convert a new Dicom file using the following ImageMagick versions:

1) ImageMagick 6.5.9 Q16 : crashes with a serious ImageMagick Studio Library error (windows asks me for a debug with Visual Studio 2008 to see details)
2) ImageMagick 6.7.2 Q16 (last version) : doesn't crash but it doesn't terminate the conversion (i need to abort convert.exe using Task Manager)

If is useful i can upload the file (it is a 12 MB file).
Has anyone some ideas to detect why this particular Dicom is not compatible with ImageMagick libraries?

This is PowerDicom tags report:

We can reproduce the problem you posted and have a patch. Look for it in the next point release of ImageMagick, 6.7.2-2 in about a week. Thanks.

Hi all,

using new version 6.7.2-5 i have resolved previous issue (image totally black) but now i have a new serious problem:

using this new version to convert other dicom files (converted fine by previous imagemagick versions) i obtain a great loss of details.
To see the effect you can download this zip file: http://www.easy-share.com/1918125243/di ... oblems.zip

(.zip content: original.dcm is the dicom file, conversion_ok is a jpg converted using imagemagick 6.5.9, wrong conversion is a jpg converted with 6.7.2-5)

Thanks
Marco

Your image converts properly for us. We're using ImageMagick 6.8.4-10. You may need to upgrade your version of ImageMagick.
