P.S. I vaguely remember this being linked somewhere in the Forums, but this is too neat not to make sure it's there.

Seems like a very good algorithm. But I am always wary of relying of the test images the developers themselves supply.

Still a pixel scaling algorithm of some kind would be a good addition to IM, if the licence allows it.
