CentOS ImageMagick differences i386 vs x86_64?

Post by forrie »

I've been asked to look into an issue with "identify" that is reporting a corrupted gif, on CentOS 5 (and 6) (x86_64 and i386).

What I've noticed is the i386 version (ImageMagick-6.2.8.0-15.el5_8) works fine, but the x86_64 is the one that doesn't -- and on all systems. This leads me to believe there is a bug somewhere.

From what I'm looking at, building this from source may not be an easy task. Therefore, I'm hoping to resolve the above :-)

Anyone see this?

To get a reasonable response, you might need to supply the file in question.

This particular file has some proprietary info. I've asked to be given another GIF that generates the same error -- I will post it then.

It is entirely possible that the GIF is not being created correctly... or there's another issue.

Will post ASAP.
