combine and align photos

Hello,
I am a newbie using IM and I need your help and wisdom to do this, maybe somebody else already posted the same problem, but here we go:

Say I've got 3 photos, same size, but the images within the photos are not aligned, I would like to join this photos to make only one big aligned photo,so, please IM FORUM, whats the tool in IM to do this?

I've been using: convert +append this joins the photos but it doesn't align them,

I'm open to any suggestion

I don't understand "images within the photos". Can you provide samples?
