What platform? If Linux, then your version 6.7.7-10 2017-07-31 was last updated on 7/31/2017. You should check with the Linux distribution or hosting service to see if there is a more current patch for your "flavor" of Linux. They generally do not change the version number (6.7.7.10) when they patch ImageMagick. The date of your patch should correspond to approx. 6.9.9.5.

I asked DreamHost if they placed a patch on Imagemagick, and they responded:
The server is running 6.7.7-10, which was updated last year:

That is what I told you. It was patched 7/31/2017. You need to ask them if there is a more current patch.

I created a support ticket, waiting for a response. Most likely there is no more current patch.

Dreamhost didn't respond yet. Let's assume for now that there is no more current patch. Can anyone update imagemagick on our dreamhost hosting account?

Your hosting service will not let anyone update their version of ImageMagick but themselves and only if their is a patch. Otherwise, you will have to ask them if they permit private versions of ImageMagick in your own directory. If so, ask if they will install it. If not, then you might consider moving to another hosting service that will allow that.
If some one else is to install it, then you need to identify what type of Linux is being use.
