Filtering text with different backgrounds

How do I filter out text from a document which has "white on black" and "black on white" (and most likely, black on gray, too) text at the same time?



textcleaner is not supposed to help here, I believe.

What do you mean by filtering? What do you expect for the result? If you are trying to read text, you need OCR tools. If you are trying to recover text covered by black, I doubt that is possible. Please clarify your request.
