Basics please...for newbie

Questions and postings pertaining to the usage of ImageMagick regardless of the interface. This includes the command-line utilities, as well as the C and C++ APIs. Usage questions are like "How do I use ImageMagick to create drop shadows?".

ImageMagick is first and formost a batch processing image handling.
That is you can write scripts in shell, perl, PHP, ruby, C, C++ etc to read in and process images then output the results.

While some GUI interfaces are available it is not a GUI driven application.
