Your resize script has a -size setting in it. That is fine as it would only apply to jpegs, however you should NOT set it to the same size as what you are re-sizing too as it can give the -resize command nothing to work on, reducing the final quality.
Set color=darkred]-size[/color] to at least double the final -resize value. It will not enlarge JPEGS, only 'scale' them to the next higher poer of two (in general).
I have not looked at other scripts but I am sure they can benifit from someone reading IM Examples.
