what code base is imagemagick?

Questions and postings pertaining to the usage of ImageMagick regardless of the interface. This includes the command-line utilities, as well as the C and C++ APIs. Usage questions are like "How do I use ImageMagick to create drop shadows?".

ImageMagick is written in the C programming language and has a PHP and Perl API interface (among others).

It also has command line, standard, which can be used without going through the API. The command line is very good for figuring out how to do things before hardcoding it into an script or API.
