Latest linux PC binary download - missing binaries!?

Post by digitalorca »

I just downloaded the latest binary image for linux (ImageMagick-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.gz" from http://www.imagemagick.org/download/binaries/)

Unpacked it, but lo, there is no "bin" directory in the resulting directory structure.

Rubbed my eyes and did it again, but the bin aint there.

In contrast, the Solaris image is just fine.

Am I hallucinating or are we missing a binary directory for the linux image?

Latest update: the download image has been updated. The bin directory now exists! Woohoo - very fast response!

And yet ... none of these binaries actually execute (I've tried them on Fedora 5 and RH). When executed each clt emits the diagnostic "Floating point exception" and dies.

Anyone have any clues?
